Fire Prevention – Course Information:
Everybody in your workplace must have training in fire prevention. Failure to train your staff in the basics of effective fire prevention means that you are breaking the law set within the Regulatory Reform Fire Safety Order 2005. Such negligence on your part, as an employer, can lead to a criminal conviction.
This course mainly focuses on fire prevention and the assessment of potential risks within your workplace, as these are fundamental points listed in the Regulatory Reform Fire Safety Order 2005 legislation. Participants of the course will gain sufficient basic knowledge in using fire fighting equipment, evacuation procedures, and the importance of limiting false alarms in the workplace.

Once a course has been purchased it will expire one calendar year from the day it is bought. When a user has passed and completed a main course, they will receive a certificate of achievement which lasts for three years; refresher course certificates will expire one calendar year from completion.
Introduction to Fire and Safety:
You will learn the 3 fundamental elements to any fire, and the principle steps required to prevent all three elements coming together. Once this has been covered, the next stage is to learn how a fire can spread – should one ignite in your place of work.
The Regulatory Reform Fire Safety Order 2005:
We now identify the responsibilities of both employers and employees in the workplace and who is in charge of safety in your workplace. There is assessment of the required safety signs and where they should be situated within your workplace.
The importance of risk assessments to proactively identify the principles of effective fire prevention.
Detecting a blaze at work:
How such situations can be detected and outlining the relevant safety procedures in your workplace.
When a blaze can/should be contained.
Identification of different types of fire and the correct equipment to use in each case.
How to use equipment safely and effectively.
Evacuation and escape:
The principles of a proper evacuation procedure, covering who should be responsible for contacting the emergency services, and the dos and don’ts of evacuation.
False Alarm Prevention:
False alarms do happen and it’s important for you to know why preventing these is important. Additionally, how you can prevent them.
